A Black-led community defense hub centering all Black lives most at risk for state-sanctioned violence in the Greater Washington area.
HIPS promotes the health, rights, and dignity of individuals and communities impacted by sexual exchange and/or drug use due to choice, coercion, or circumstance. HIPS provides compassionate harm reduction services, advocacy, and community engagement that is respectful, non-judgmental, and affirms and honors individual power and agency.
In 2000, the Latinx History Project, formerly known as the Latino GLBT History Project, was founded to collect, preserve and share Latinx LQBTQ history. LHP was founded by leaders who had been at the front lines of multiple civil rights movements across race, ethnicity and sexual orientation. At a time when Latinx LGBTQ+ communities were being left out of mainstream Latino and LGBTQ+ organizations, these leaders built their own space.
Founded in 1990, the District of Columbia LGBTQ+ Bar Association is an independent, non-partisan bar association serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer lawyers, law students, and legal professionals in the national capital area. The District of Columbia LGBTQ+ Bar Association works to advance the interests of the LGBT community, to be their voice within the legal community, and to improve their professional lives.
Rainbow History Project’s mission is to collect, preserve and promote the history and culture of the diverse LGBTQ communities in metropolitan Washington, D.C.

Since 1983, La Clínica del Pueblo has been addressing the distinct health needs of our community through comprehensive primary medical care with wrap-around services across the life spectrum; mental health and substance abuse treatment; medical interpretation and language access advocacy; community health including health education and safe spaces; and advocacy strategies to increase inclusion and health equity for Latino immigrants.
For over fifty years, Whitman-Walker has been part of the fabric of the local DC and national community as first responder and care-provider for those living with HIV; a leader in LGBTQ+ care and advocacy; a research center working to discover breakthroughs in HIV treatment and prevention science; and one of the DC’s most trusted partners during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

The Capital Stonewall Democrats (formerly Gertrude Stein Democratic Club) serves as the voice of LGBTQ+ Democrats in the District of Columbia. Established in 1976, Capital Stonewall Democrats is one of the oldest Democratic clubs in the District and is a founding chapter of the National Stonewall Democrats. Our membership maintains active members in each of the 8 wards of the District of Columbia.
We fight to build workplace democracy, demand a right to housing, confront immigration detention profiteers, stand up to Amazon, ensure a just transition, and fight fascism. Our organization is ever-evolving to confront the challenges presented by capitalism, fascism, and systemic inequality.
Bodily Autonomy Working Group
We fight for queer, trans, and feminist liberation and against systems of patriarchal capitalist oppression that devalue women and LGBTQIA+ people.
DC Health promotes health, wellness and equity, across the District, and protects the safety of residents, visitors and those doing business in our nation’s Capital.
Our responsibilities include identifying health risks; educating the public; preventing and controlling diseases, injuries and exposure to environmental hazards; promoting effective community collaborations; and optimizing equitable access to community resources.
MOLGBTQA was created in 2005 and serves as the liaison between the District Government and the LGTBQ+ community. It advises the Mayor, the Council, and the District Agencies on the views, needs, and concerns of the District's LGBTQIA+ community.
The District of Columbia Office of Human Rights (OHR) was established to eradicate discrimination, increase equal opportunity and protect human rights for persons who live in or visit the District of Columbia. The agency enforces local and federal human rights laws, including the DC Human Rights Act, by providing a legal process to those who believe they have been discriminated against.
